Student Opportunities at Lincoln City, Lincoln United and Spalding United for the 20/21 Season
We are delighted to be able to expand the opportunities for our students to work with local football partners in the 20/21 season. Full details of the roles and timings can not yet be confirmed because of the COVID-19 situation, but recent discussions have identified that opportunities for students across our portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes will include those below.
At this stage, please can you indicate (using the link below) which of these areas you would be interested in – sports science, performance analysis, sports therapy and/or coaching – along with your course and the year you will be in this coming year. We will then send you relevant updates on these and any other opportunities that arise.
Lincoln City FC Academy
The very successful internship programme from this year – working the various Academy age group squads – is being expanded to include support opportunities with the Shadow Scholars Programme (for 16-18 year olds) and the Emerging Talent Programme (for 9-16 year olds).
Internships will be available in sports science, performance analysis, sports therapy and coaching. (Note: coaching opportunities may be restricted by EFL regulations regarding UEFA B coach qualifications, but please indicate an interest if relevant)
Lincoln United
(a) Some coaching roles are available with Lincoln United Mixed Teams, who are keen to involve the School’s students again following previous successful placements with them. Training is on Thursday evenings and matches are on Sundays. One role would only involve Saturday mornings with their youngest players.
(b) The Men’s Reserve Team are also looking for two students for Performance Analysis (Filming games/training and providing highlights/clips) and one or two students for Strength & Conditioning (Warm ups before training and match days and other related areas).
(c) The Female Junior Section are aiming to recruit volunteer coaches for the following age female groups (U8, U9 and U11). They will train on Tuesday nights and play Saturday mornings at the Priory City of Lincoln Academy. (These roles have already been recruited to, but more opportunities may be available.)
Spalding United
A new opportunity exists to support the First Team Manager as a match analysis.
